What should I expect at my initial visit?

Please take time to fill out  any intake forms that are sent to you ahead of time regarding your health history and current health concerns.  From there you and your practitioner will discuss what the best course of treatment is. 

**Please bring your insurance card with you if you'd like us to direct bill. Some insurance companies require a M.D referral/prescription for treatments. Please check with your insurance company if you need one.

How many treatments will I need?

Treatment frequency depends on a variety of factors:  the severity and duration of the health concern. Your practitioner may suggest one or two treatments per week, or monthly visits for maintaining your health.

Is  Acupuncture painful?

Acupuncture uses very fine needles and generally isn't painful. You may feel an electric sensation, or a feeling of muscle contraction. This is all normal, and if at any time during the treatment you experience pain that doesn't subside you should let your practitioner know so they can remove or adjust the needles. Your comfort is very important!

Are Acupuncture & Massage  safe during pregnancy?

Yes! Both Acupuncture & Massage Therapy are safe during pregnancy. Many pregnancy-related conditions can be alleviated with the help of Acupuncture & Massage Therapy.

Can children receive Acupuncture & Massage Therapy?

Yes! Both Acupuncture & Massage Therapy can be beneficial for children. If your child has a fear of needles then your acupuncturist will use acupressure instead of needles.

What is Acupressure?

Acupressure is a Traditional Chinese Medicine technique that involves applying gentle to firm pressure to specific points on the body, called Acupoints. Practitioners use their fingers, thumbs, palms, elbows, or even special tools to stimulate these acupoints.

Is there direct billing for health insurance?

Yes, we can bill most insurance companies .  

Is there direct billing for ICBC claims?

Yes, for Acupuncture treatments; this is not available for Massage.
